What are the gears and gear units
1. Gear
Any mechanical element with teeth becomes a gear when it can use its teeth to continuously mesh with another toothed element to transmit or receive motion from the latter.
2. Gear pair
A basic mechanism consisting of two meshing gears. The relative position of the axes of the two gears remains unchanged and each rotates around its own axis.
3. Parallel shaft gear pair
A gear pair with two parallel axes.
4. Intersecting shaft gear pair
A gear pair with two axes intersecting.
5. Staggered shaft gear pair
A gear pair whose two axes are not parallel or intersecting.
6. Gear train
Any combination of several gear pairs.
7. Planetary gear train
A gear mechanism composed of several coaxial components, wherein at least one planet carrier is equipped with one or more planetary motion gears.
A. Simple planetary gear train
A planetary gear train composed of three coaxial components, of which there is only one planet carrier.
B. Differential gear train
A planetary gear train with two or more degrees of freedom.
C. Composite planetary gear train
Planetary gear trains with more than one planet carrier.
8. Gear transmission
A transmission mode that uses gears to transmit motion.
